It All Began With An Idea

Dear Seekers and Practitioners of Spirit,

The beauty of living from Spirit is that insights, revelations, nudges, synchronicities, and visions flow through us and we are moved into action.

Gaye Kruger-Ribble, Murphy Sullivan, Daurene Lee and I all shared a vision of a spiritual center made up of individuals interested in or actively living from Spirit. We saw this ever-growing group of people coming together in Spokane coalescing Light energy and witnessing the value of this. It was our strong-held belief and premonition this group could be an Energetic Gift to the community and the world. We set out creating this. We saw this as a Center, and not a church or temple, so we chose meeting on Tuesday nights from 6-7 pm so that practitioners of all faiths, inter-faiths, can participate as can those who choose to make this gathering their spiritual home. We are calling our time together Talk and Practices which will include a talk by Reverend Bonnie or guests followed by connecting and shared spiritual practice. We are working on live streaming, and it will most likely take a few weeks before we can figure this out.

It is beginning small, in a rented facility on South Hill. After a lot of consideration the team and I decided the timing wasn’t right to be a non-profit and we didn’t want to be constrained with all of the forms and rules. So, I went about building a business. I bought the domain name spiritualcenterspokane.org, got all of the necessary business licenses and insurances, created a website (this is a miracle in itself), opened a Facebook page , opened an Instagram Account, hired a designer to create a logo, ordered business cards, and made all of the numerous on-line commitments to create a virtual presence. I also created a small but mighty group of women entrepreneurs to hold me and each other in prayer and accountability. Now, the Center is coming into fruition. One small step at a time following this Spirit-inspired idea.

I have never become complacent with the idea that everything is alive and moving and that everything begins with an idea. In the Judeo-Christian tradition it is said that God spoke things into being coming from thought. You and I do the same thing. We speak into being our perception of Life, and often tangible life experiences. We don’t know the timing, yet we can trust the manifestation if aligned will appear in Source’s perfect timing. As a side note, when I was eighteen years old I had a boyfriend whose family used pews in lieu of kitchen table chairs. I loved this and decided at that moment that someday I will do the same. Over forty years later at dinner last week a friend asked me if I, per chance, would like a set of two pews. I laughed so hard. This was probably one of the longest desires to come into fruition and I felt as though God was tickling me. “Yes, of course I want the pews.”

I am aware of how magic life truly is, if we allow it to be. It is my intention to move forward aware of this ever-present magic. Grateful for the Mystery of God and yet the deep, personal knowing of Its Presence in us, as well.

If you are called to join us on Tuesdays at Manito United Methodist Church in the Fellowship Hall, you are invited and welcome. We are charging $25 for the hour together. There are always partial scholarships (pay what you can) and volunteer opportunities available.

I hope to see you there.

With a Grateful Heart,

Reverend Bonnie
